Head of Projects
Raila is a graduate of Bachelors of Social Sciences with majors in Media Studies and Journalism. During her studies, she was assigned many tasks that helped nurture her interest in the field.
She has formerly been with Al-Jazeera English Network as a trainee in Television Reporting. While still a student, Raila joined Morango Films as a Communications Coordinator with the aim to grow professionally. With time, several opportunities came her way to further develop her interest in the dynamics of media organizations.
Some projects she has been affiliated with in the past include: the 60 Second Intl. Film Festival, European Union’s project to improve the visibility of the Rural Development Programme, and US Embassy’s app-based educational program, My City My Story.
Recently, Raila became an alumni member of the CONTACT Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding Training, an initiative by the SIT Graduate Institute.
Apart from being passionate about her work, Raila loves reading, writing and cracking painfully lame jokes.
